Exploring Our Newest Video Accessibility Features in Version 5.0

We recently released our latest Ensemble Video Version 5.0. In it, we’ve expanded our features that improve video accessibility and ensure all students have access to high-quality video education.

The new features include adding video text notes and system audio in Ensemble Anthem, accessing user and views reports and creating video quizzes to promote engagement and ensure all students are keeping pace with lessons.

New video accessibility features offered in Version 5.0

Create video quizzes

Now, educators can use our video quizzing feature to test comprehension and reinforce key concepts in videos. With this new Version 5.0 feature, instructors can create quizzes on top of their videos and publish them on your school’s LMS, CMS, blog or webpage.

After your instructors create a video quiz, they can view student results and drill down into specific results by question and user. Like video viewership reports, this allows them to determine which of their students may require more assistance understanding key content to keep up with their classmates.

Access user and views reports in LMS

Ensemble Video contributors or administrators can access “users” reports in your school’s LMS to see which individual students have watched which videos, the average duration of their views, the average percentage of the video they watched and how many times they played it. Or, contributors and administrators can access “views” reports in the LMS to see which users watched a particular video and for how long.

This information can help instructors determine who may be watching videos multiple times and may require more assistance understanding content.

Add text annotations

In the latest version of Ensemble Anthem –– our screen capture solution –– users can add text notes on the screen during their Anthem capture. These text notes can be used to add descriptions or transcripts of lessons or ideas being explained in videos to help students with hearing impairments follow along and effectively absorb crucial video content.

Record system audio

With Version 5.0 of Ensemble Anthem & Ensemble Anthem Pro, our software screen capture tool now supports recording of system audio. For example, instructors can record the audio from YouTube videos they are projecting on their classroom computers. This can be beneficial for students with vision impairments.
