We are stoked for Educause 2014 in Orlando!

We’re predicting this will be the “Year of the Consortium Video Platform”. We’ve been seeing a huge increase in cooperative technology management and media sharing across multiple institutions. It makes so much sense. Why spend more, when you can share infrastructure and pay less for the same education video platform?

We will  be moderating an informative panel discussion Wednesday afternoon, with learning technologists from the New York Six Liberal Arts Consortium (NY6).

This presentation comes on the heels of a similar session we took part in at Campus Technology in Boston with NY6 and State University of New York (SUNY) educators and media specialists. Make sure you check out the Campus Technology article based on that session: When YouTube Isn’t Enough To Manage Your Campus Video Content

Going to Educause? Stop by booth #158 in the exhibit hall and talk to us about our cloud-hosted, self-hosted, and multi-tenant private cloud solutions. And don’t shop for a video platform without checking out the NY6 session:

Through the NY6 MediaShare Project, NY6 uses Ensemble Video to provide the core video streaming infrastructure for its six member campuses – Colgate University, Hamilton College, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Skidmore College, St. Lawrence University, and Union College.

In this session, we will examine how NY6 uses Ensemble Video to provide cost-effective video streaming infrastructure as a service. Learn how cross-campus collaboration enables colleges, universities, and consortiums to build a scalable framework for growing digital media collections.

  • Learn about a cost-effective streaming solution
  • Be able to articulate a campus-wide streaming strategy
  • Be able to identify the value of cross-discipline and cross-departmental online video strategies

The presenters will be:

  • Kevin Barhydt, Academic Technology Specialist at Union College
  • Beth Du Pont, Director of Academic Technologies at Skidmore College
  • Scott Nadzan, VP Marketing and Sales at Ensemble Video
  • Jermaine Wells, Coordinator for Learning Environments, Special Events, and Conferences at Union College
