At Ensemble Video, mobile has been an area of continued focus. We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our new mobile app. For colleges and universities, this iOS app allows faculty and students to record, manage and publish video content using an iPhone or iPad.

Mobile is the dominant platform in today’s on-the-go world. We know that students and faculty use mobile devices in so many facets of their lives. After all, 94 percent of smartphone users keep their phones with them almost constantly, and for a growing group of Americans, a smartphone is their primary means of online access at home.

By providing a convenient way to complete work- and school-related tasks, our new mobile app meets the needs of students and faculty, as well as their demand and appetite for video. The app simplifies video assignments and offers convenient access to video content, wherever users are and whenever they need it.

Simplify video assignments for students

With the mobile app, students can easily record and upload video assignments. It’s as simple as scanning a QR code in the school’s Learning Management System (LMS) and the app will automatically submit the video to their teacher. The app also allows users to trim the start and end points of videos and add a title and description prior to uploading.

For students, a mobile app provides another option for video creation by harnessing the power of their smartphone—its capabilities, quality and convenience. They don’t have to be an expert at creating videos, and they don’t have to be locked into using a computer with a webcam. Mobile offers the flexibility to create, submit and view videos anytime, anywhere.

Provide faculty with convenient access to video content

The mobile app offers faculty members quick, easy access to their video library and a convenient way to upload and review dropbox videos. Using their iPhone or iPad, faculty members can manage their videos, lectures, presentations and training sessions. The app also allows them to create and manage video playlists for sharing with students, colleagues and viewers.

Both faculty and students can download content for offline viewing. This feature means users don’t need WiFi to watch videos, an important benefit when they’re on the go and traveling.

How to access the app

If your school uses Ensemble’s video platform, students and faculty can download the free mobile app through the App Store. Educators will log in for access to the app. Students don’t need an account and can simply scan the QR code in the Ensemble Video Dropbox on their computer screen to authorize access.

We’re excited to offer this new mobile app as a convenient way to create and manage video content. For more details on the app’s capabilities and a step-by-step guide to how to use the app, view our recent webinar.
